WUFT | Reporter & Digital Producer

My work at WUFT, has offered me several multimedia opportunities ranging from video, photography and digital producing. I’ve reported stories in North Central Florida such as local firefighters applying for a $1.9 million grant.  As a digital editor, I copy edited articles, produced digital copy for TV packages,  monitored  social media and audience engagement using Hearken, GroundSource and Parse.ly.

The Gainesville Sun is a regional daily newspaper where I worked on general assignment stories including the city of Gainesville's efforts to avoid wastewater spills and the county's implementation of an independent board which aims to support school children.

The Alligator | Crime Reporter

My work at this independent student newspaper has been one of my most challenging experiences. Starting off as a general assignment reporter, I’ve covered everything from local elections, environmental issues to hurricane coverage. Later, I became the paper's crime reporter. I wrote at least 30 crime briefs and covered police politics in the city of Gainesville and Alachua County.

Sparks Magazine | Editor-in-chief

Sparks Magazine, an Asian American magazine based at the University of Florida, provides a multimedia platform to elevate the voices of Asian Americans and the issues affecting our community. I’ve been a part of this publication for four years starting off as a staff writer. Over the years, I’ve risen the ranks to content editor, managing editor to editor-in-chief. I also managed digital content and oversaw the creative direction of the magazine. While editor-in-chief, I pushed our the boundaries of our design and our content to reflect the complex perspectives facing those of the Asian American diaspora.

Advantage Publishing Inc. is a full service publishing agency in Gainesville Florida that produces three publications: HOME, Business in Greater Gainesville and Guide to Greater Gainesville. During my time at Advantage Publishing, I started as an intern and advanced to a higher position as an editorial assistant. In this position, I wrote, researched for more than 30 articles writing features about business and regional events. As an editorial assistant, I maintained relations for high profile clients, managed and guided other interns and copyedited proofs prior to printing.
